Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) alert you with visual and/or audible warning if there is change in pressure or temperature. It does this by using sensors in each individual tyre.
Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) alert you with visual and/or audible warning if there is change in pressure or temperature. It does this by using sensors in each individual tyre.
TPMS can also save you money by maximising tyre life as incorrectly inflated tyres result in uneven wear on the tyre tread and will need replacing sooner than normal.
Running a vehicle with the correct tyre pressure increases safety and performance, reduces fuel consumption and helps prevent wear and tear on your tyres.
Having a TPMS saves you time and energy in routinely checking tyre pressure manually.
Installing TPMS
If your vehicle is not fitted with a TPMS as standard, we can install one at First Stop.
Sensors with their own battery power are fitted to the wheels, and send information to the central monitoring unit.
Why install a TPMS?
- Checks tyre pressure in real time
- Reduces excess fuel consumption
- Reduces your changes of having a blow out or accident related to incorrect tyre pressure
- Encourages greener driving
Does a TPMS need servicing?
When we fit new tyres, rotate tyres, repair a puncture or burst tyre, the TPMS is recalibrated to manufacturer specification.
