Frequently asked questions
No, it's not the same.
Alignment involves setting the wheels on each axle in parallel, and the axles parallel to each other, adjusting wheel angles so that the car steering does not drift to one side, as well as ensuring driver comfort and good grip for the tyres, thus guaranteeing safety at the wheel.
Balancing is a mechanical process of adjusting the wheels to prevent vehicle vibration at any speed, no matter what type of driving is used.
The modern car is built for comfort, performance and handling. In order to achieve and maintain the best ride possible, the steering and suspension needs to be measured and adjusted within the motor manufacturer’s specifications. This can only be done by measuring all four wheels and having a proper full four wheel alignment measurement.
Wheel alignment can be affected by hitting the kurb or a large pothole in the road or travelling regularly on gravel roads. If alignment is out, it can cause excessive wear to your tyres and problems with steering or suspension.
FIRST STOP - KC Motors customer reviews
"Rang for a realignment of my wheels for a Nct re-test. The receptionist, sorry I didn’t ask her name, was so accommodating actually giving me a slot the same day. She was very polite, knew exactly what I wanted & how long they would need for the job. Even knew how much it would cost. Picking up the car was no hassle, it was ready waiting for me. Couldn’t have asked for better service. Would definitely use again if my usual garage can’t facilitate me."
"Excellent and friendly service today at KC Motors, thank you!"
"From first contact to leaving, Lauren at reception is everything you could ever want from the voice of the company. Polite, helpful and efficient. Only wanted my rear wheels balancing on my Skoda Citigo, which appears to be a rare request in Ireland. (I rotate my wheel's and one was out of balance so put on rear) The young man who performed the work was also ultra polite and efficient. He did however decide to put 36 pounds in all four tyres. The fronts are 33 and rears 30. All were correct before I attended and quickly rectified after an extremely hard ride back to Boyle. All in all, a professional setup with good customer relations but remember, some customers do know how to maintain their vehicles. Will recommend."
"Needed new tyres the service was brilliant and instant Hannah ar reception is a great person with good customer service will return"
"Friendly helpful staff. Frustrating trying to call and always needing to leave a voicemail. Nevertheless, great job on my tyres. Highly recommended...."
